How Gloomforge works
Quick start
- Hero & items: pick a hero and optional mark, choose trait options tier by tier, then fill your item slots and pick each item's rarity variant.
- Abilities: add up to 6, pick a trait at each rank, then choose upgrades once they unlock.
- Blessings: set your ranks to see bonuses and the gold you still need.
- Read the totals: every bonus is grouped by what it applies to (main weapon, all attacks, an element, one ability), and each ability shows its final stats.
The maths
From the wiki's Stats page: Final stat = (Base stat + Base bonus) × (100% + Multiplier bonus). Flat bonuses ("+100 Base Damage") are base bonuses, and % bonuses are multipliers.
A bonus counts for an attack if it has no tag, or its tag matches: Main Weapon bonuses only count for your weapon, "(Ability)" trait bonuses only for that ability, and element or property tags (Magic, Fire, Area…) for abilities with that type. Base crit values are fractions in the game data, so +0.01 Base Crit Chance is +1%.
What's not covered yet
- Item effects are descriptive (most are conditional), so they're listed but not added to totals.
- Hero base stats and main weapon base stats aren't in the data this tool uses, so main weapon bonuses show as totals only.
- Signet third upgrades, Strength and other special interactions aren't modelled.
All numbers come from the community wiki and haven't been checked in-game. If something looks off, please report it.
FAQ
How many abilities can I take?
Up to 6 per run. Each gets up to 2 upgrades, offered after its rank III and rank VI traits (a Signet or the Sage's Mark of Knowledge can allow a third).
Why can't I pick some traits at a rank?
Each ability trait is only offered at certain ranks. The rank dropdowns only list what the game offers at that rank.
What do Marks do here?
Most Marks let you pick another hero's traits. Choosing one adds that hero's trait lines below yours, plus any flat bonus the Mark gives.
Does it include the DLCs?
Yes. Boglands and Lost Archives heroes, abilities, upgrades and items are included and tagged.
Where are my builds saved?
In your browser on this device. Use a share link or "Download build" to move one.
